In celebration of Gemini, the 3rd sign of the Zodiac, we at PRICK
regret to inform you that the standard tattooed hot chick normally
seen here month after month will not be available. Instead, we’re
bringing you two!
Allison Evans and Jessica Henry are twins. They are many other
things that include—but are in no way limited to—being a wife, a homemaker,
a chef, a dog lover, a mother, and a collector of all things retro and
vintage. These females are individuals that prescribe to their own ideas
of beauty as well as to other equally cool and descriptive things that
could be summed up with one word: awesome.
The girls were born in Houston,Tex. and raised in Nashville,Tenn.
Sooner or later they both ended up in or near Atlanta. According to
Jessica, "Allison was the first to leave, headed for culinary school; I followed
two years later." Since then, Allison has become a chef at the local
Grant Park eatery, Dakota Blue, married Jay (j!) Evans, a locally-employed
tattoo artist at Black Cat, and has recently given birth to a daughter, Lilly
Maye, or "Munster." As a mild contrast to her sister, Jessica is a pinup
model and is currently employed by The Gravity Pub in East Atlanta.
Aside from being constant pillars of support for one another, they
both have very different agendas for their own lives. When asked about
the sisters' relationship, Allison had this to say: "We are really close. Close enough
that I don’t have to get dressed or do make-up to spend time with her. I can just
roll out of bed and call her."
All formalities and private lives aside, these girls have a very pure fascination
with tattoos. Josh Haynes at Psycho Tattoo 2 did Jessica’s arm, back, and ribs and
her ears were tattooed by j! at Black Cat Tattoo. Allison, with a little more time
under the needle, has had work done by Soul (WWII-themed half sleeve) and Lil'
D (who did her feet) of 13 Roses,Todd Townsend, who is responsible for her food
pieces, Beck (ears) out of Cool Cat Tattoo in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and, of course, j!,
who did her neck, shoulder cap, and legs.
After all that, we had a few questions for these lovely sisters.
What inspired you to get tattooed?
Allison: I have always liked tattoos and didn't think they were a very big deal. I think
people take themselves and their tattoos way too seriously. Just get what you want
and don't regret it.
Jessica: At first it was all about the love that I have for my family.
What influenced the sorts of tattoos that you decided to get?
Allison: I like food and my family. I also love things that make me laugh. Everyone should
have a sense of humor with their tattoos, not to mention everything else in life.
Jessica: Definitely humor, love, music and art, mostly in traditional style. Josh Hanes at
Psycho Tattoo 2 rocks because I can give him an idea and he'll come back with some
amazing drawing that I love. It never fails!
What aspects of your personality do you feel like you reflect in your tattoos?
Allison: I like stupid things and anything that will make me laugh. I’m interested in all
things lame. I love unicorns and dolphins, rainbows and wizards. My next sweet tat is
going to be a wolf howling at a crystal ball with an Indian crying in the background. All
with red eyes of course. It should tear out of the skin as well.
Jessica: My heritage, silliness, and simplicity. My loyalty to family and friends, and my
commitment to being myself.
When searching for the words to describe two of the toughest, prettiest, and—let’s
just face it already—most awesome girls around, there is an old saying that bears repeating
at a time like this. In a remark that really needs no further explanation, here is something
that I once heard a great giant of a man say: "Tattooed, cleavage-showing, Bettie-
Page-looking hot chicks? I am so there!"
