The September 11th tragedy was remembered in various ways by people of many walks of life. The Deathray Angels commemorated the day raising hell in the spirit of freedom, rock ‘n’ roll and rowdy patriotism!
To kick it all off, Urban Disorder, another KC band, primed the crowd by performing a clean, but heavy 45-minute set, follwed by the heavily tattooed madness of the Deathray Angels. The Sept. 11 CD release party for Kansas City's Deathray Angel’s third recording entitled Patriotica, was held at the Madrid Theater. The band, which has a Guns & Roses/Black Sabbath/Misfits feel, mixed with a style uniquely their own, celebrate their fourth year together this Halloween.
Frontman Robico Lopez, Spider Rodriguez (drums), Brit Schitt (bass, vocals), and Nicky G (guitar) put on an all out turbo tanks and brick blasting rock ‘n’ roll show, full of sizzling surprises, including some blood spitting, fire-breathing action. The lovely fire goddess Veronica, outfitted in a patriotic stars and stripes bikini, performed her fire spitting and swallowing act throughout the show. Yea ... she spits and swallows. Gene Simmons - you gotta check this out!
