Able Baker Fox :: Voices

Able Baker Fox
Voices
Second Nature Records

Formed in the wake of Small Brown Bike and the Casket Lottery, Able Baker Fox have thrust onto the indie music scene their debut full length album, Voices. Voices is a fantastic blend of the melodic indie rock familiar to fans of The Casket Lottery with the raw and aggressive punk rock sound of Small Brown Bike’s early material. It also throws in some unfamiliar aspects to those that know Abel Baker Fox's past bands. The album’s second track, "Stuttering," is a perfect example of the different styles of music ABF have brought to the table, the song starts out with a very campy riff not un-like early Rush, before kicking into a strong, driving, and forthright indie rock song, blending three different vocal styles on top of melodic and mathy guitar lines, mixed with a booming bass and drum combo. While Voices may not make us forget about Small Brown Bike and the Casket Lottery, it is certainly great to see that musicians we love are still making killer rock records.
