These Seattle punks blend art rock with hardcore for an intense, gimmick-free sound with no pretenses. Like the Deftones, System of a Down, and Rage Against the Machine, The Blood Brothers create music that is equally heavy and heady that sounds uniquely unrehearsed, yet intricately structured. The Jungle Rules Live DVD shows how explosive the band's live show can be when the wiry-framed, thrift store-clothed members are unleashed both musically and physically upon the audience and each other in the tortured fashion of Nirvana. The Brothers' latest CD (it's first for ARTISTdirect) is equally passionate with two throat-shredding singers and plenty of sonic experimentation for a genuinely out-of-control hardcore masterpiece. If the label execs know what's good for them, they'll put everything they've got behind this band.
