Live In The Land Of The Rising Sun DVD
Sick Videos/MVD

A live Devo performance is a rare occasion. Considering that 25 years passed before the quirky robo-rock band returned to Japan makes the performances documented on this DVD rare indeed. With a packed house of Japanese fans wearing red energy dome hats and chanting "Debo, Debo," the band whips into crowd pleasing songs like "Girl U Want," "Whip It," a deconstructed cover of the Rolling Stones’ "Satisfaction," "Mongoloid," and "Freedom Of Choice." Between songs is candid interview footage with members of the band talking about things like sex with Japanese women, the confusion of Japanese toilets and the "retarded cowboy" currently in office. Bonuses include extended interviews and backstage footage, Devo shopping in Tokyo, and rare live footage from 1980.
