Dirty Power Dead Teenager Records
Just as the Seattle scene of the early '90s was originally a throwback to the power and intensity of '70s hard rock acts like T. Rex, KISS and AC/DC, San Francisco's Dirty Power has the same sleaze and slumber of early Soundgarden and Nirvana. Opening track "LSD" has a touch of the Melvins psycho sludge while "Tastes Like Burning" and "Dirty Power" almost sound like lost KISS or Thin Lizzy recordings. Maybe recording in Seattle with pre-grunge producer Jack Endino had something to do with the band's retro rock sound. Or maybe these guys were just born to play rock the way it should be played - loud and proud.
