Glass and Ashes
No Idea Records

Michael Carter (the singer of Glass and Ashes) must snort gravel lined with salt. No Idea Records is famous for their gruff, throaty, and graveled vocals thrust over post-punk and hardcore releases, but on their self-titled full length, Glass and Ashes have taken that formula to a whole new level, and then perfected it. From the moment the record kicks off with “Seconds Before the Bottom Drops Out,” Glass and Ashes scream through 10 songs that combine punk attitudes with rock ‘n’ roll inspired riffs, mixed in with elements of melodic hardcore, metal, post-rock, doom (and even some hints of black metal), topped off with thought provoking and socially aware lyrics.Any fan of heavy music will instantly find something they love about this record.
