The God Awfuls :: Next Stop, Armageddon
The God Awfuls
Next Stop, Armageddon
Kung Fu Records

This might be the debut release by this Southern California punk band, but with their breakneck tempos and political criticisms I'd think The God Awfuls were peers of The Clash and the Dead Kennedys if I didn't know better. From fast-paced, hardcore punk anthems like "Calling," "N.R.A." and "Bullets & Batons" to the Oi punk of "Orion" and the raw rock 'n' roll of "Disconnected Youth" and "East Side One," everything from right wing politics to neo-Nazi racism is under fire here. The God Awfuls aren't afraid to point the finger at the underdogs either. While "Tonight" and "American Nightmare" bring to light the injustices bestowed upon the lower classes, "Watch It Fall" is a rallying cry for the downtrodden and lazy to stop complaining and make a difference for themselves. For those who thought punk was dead, The God Awfuls are here to prove you wrong.
