In Defense of the Genre
J-Records
Max Bemis, everyone's little sophisticate of effectual pop-punk, is back at it. With their second major label release, Say Anything hits another vein in the arm of 20-something emotional confusion with twenty-seven songs that, for some of us, have been a long time coming. These two discs are abundant with references to pop culture and boast of their intelligent vocabularies. However, this ain't Is a Real Boy. Since their last album, Say Anything has undergone a change in line-up and in style; this record relies on a slightly more adult set of problems while maintaining its ties to the youth at large. We hope that you didn't drop the bong on this one, bruder.
