Seksu Roba :: Pleasure Vibrations
Seksu Roba
Pleasure Vibrations
Eenie Meenie Records

Comprised of visual artist and fashion designer Lun*na Menoh on vocals and producer Sukho Lee on Theramin and other electronic devices, Los Angeles' Seksu Roba creates swanky lounge music that simultaneously sounds both retro and futuristic. Listening to Pleasure Vibrations is like coming across pictures from the '50s or '60s that attempt to show what the future would be like. Lun*na's provocatively teasing lyrics bring to mind a more subtle Lords of Acid while Sukho's groovy dance beats are more reminiscent of '70s disco and funk. When it all comes together, however, songs like "Fantasy," "Up Up And Away" and "Moon Song" sound like what you would hear in a hair and nail salon set in a space age utopia. There's something really trippy and cool about this band's eclectic sound.
