Tin Armor
Tin Armor EP
Whoa-Oh Records

Sometimes it is very hard to quantify why a record is so great. On the surface, Tin Armor are not really doing anything spectacular or unfamiliar: they play melodic indie-pop with emotional and heart-felt lyrics. Maybe it’s the fact that 3/4 of the guys in this band are named Matt, or maybe simply all of the indie-pop stars aligned perfectly when Tin Armor recorded this 4 song EP,but, whatever it is, their self titled EP is without question an incredible record. The formula is nothing new or refreshing, and their lyrics won’t change the world, but perhaps what makes this record so moving is the unbridled sincerity that blares through the speakers. Tin Armor don’t care if anyone likes them or not,and don’t care to break new ground with their music. They are simply going to play exactly what they want, and sing about what is important to them, regardless of whether the final product is any good. Luckily for everyone, it most certainly is.
