On March 17, 2003 history was made at the Velvet
Lounge (formerly the Velvet Elvis) in Savannah,
GA. What a show! What a birthday party! What a St.
Patrick’s Day! I have to start out by thanking everyone who was
part of the show and thank everyone who showed up in support
of the PRICK efforts. Our friend Mister from Beyond Taboo Tattoo
(whose birthday also falls on the 17th) and his wife came to the
party with a huge bottle of Jim Beam in hand. Needless to say, it
made the bands and performers rock a little harder. Our friends
Caveman and the crew from Cherokee Tattoo in Augusta were
also in attendance to help us celebrate the festive event.
Live bands including; The Rock City Dropouts, BITCH,
Artimus Pyledriver and a last minute addition - the FGDs (Fucking
God Damns) - rocked so hard my neck hurt for two days. I still
can’t hear! BITCH got the crowd totally pumped with their classic
rock perfection. Artimus Pyledriver played their hearts out and
kept the party rolling. A huge thanks goes out to Damon from
Artimus Pyledriver who rounded up (by a stroke of leprechaun
luck) the Nassau County Volunteer Fire Dept. Bagpipe and Drum
band who were in town to cut loose and play. It was very cool.

The Rock City Dropouts rocked to nearly bone crushing proportions!
They played two incredible sets and as they finished up the last set,
lead singer Jet jumped off the high rise speaker onto the stage,
tweaking his ankle, close to the breaking point in the process!
It swelled up to the size of a softball, but in true rock-n-roll fashion,
Jet finished the song before he collapsed on stage. Within
minutes, paramedics arrived and everything... I told you it was
a good party!
The live bands were accompanied by a sexy lacy lingerie
show courtesy of the lovely ladies of Lucky Doll
Lingerie. The girls strutted lots of
revealing lingerie and ended their runway show in nothing
but shamrock pasties and pink panties. Shazamm!!

We raffled off very generous tattoo
gift certificates from Savannah shops including
Planet 3 Tattoo and Piercing, California Tattoo Co.,
Blue Moon Dermagraphics and Alien Art Tattoo throughout the
night. All of the tattoos entered in the tattoo contest
were incredible. Thanks to everyone who entered - all the money
generated helped contribute towards the fantastic
entertainment. Former PRICK covergirl Jennifer Jackson was voted best
over-all female in the tattoo contest and took home the coveted Miss PRICK
2003 title.
The unbelievable feats of mind over
matter and body suspensions by 7th Circle of Jacksonville, Fla. stole the show,
though. The crowd, bands and staff were
all mezmorized, shocked and awed by
things they had never seen before and
cheered wildly as the mad shamen
swung from flesh hooks. We’ll have a feature
on the suspension show and 7th
Circle in next month’s PRICK. Don’t
worry, it will be worth the wait.

If you missed this year’s party, stay
tuned and plan ahead. Savannah hasn’t
seen the last of PRICK. Thanks again to everyone who made the party a
success. If you are in the Savannah area, check out all the fine shops mentioned
in this article and get tattooed or pierced. And if you’ve been hiding
in a hole or something and haven’t made it to the Velvet Lounge - get
off the couch! It’s a great place to hang out, drink and listen to the finest
local and touring bands around.
