Veronica is not just another blonde on some Web site. This chick, born in Sweden and raised in California, has got the boobs and the brains. Besides modeling and doing interviews for Godsgirls.com she still has time to write, paint and play with her robo dwarf hamster named Dr. Dre. This hottie lives the exciting life of a star, but her real goal is to become the next great female tattoo artist. Recently, she happened to have a few minutes to answer some questions for us.

Sylvia: At 21, you already have quite a few large tattoos. How old were you when you got your first tattoo?

Veronica: I waited until a few months after I turned 18 to start getting tattooed. I knew ever since I was young, that it was something that interested me and would probably be a huge part of my life.

Most of your tattoos were done by well-known tattoo artists. Where do you get your knowledge?

Lately, I get to see a lot of different work, especially with my job as a model/journalist for Godsgirls.com. I have interviewed Juan Puente, Matt Shamah, Nick Baxter, Jeff Page, Vicback, Daniel Albrigo, Joe Capobianco, Jime Litwalk, and I'm working on stuff with Scott Sylvia. I have decided to put a disclaimer on all of my interviews now. It states that I know I am no real tattoo critic, but after all, nobody really knows anything. Everything in the tattoo industry is all opinion, right?

Do you have any plans for future tattoos? Any certain artists that you would like to get tattooed by?

I have plans as far as certain things I would like to get tattooed at some point. I am going to get my ribs colored soon by Gunnar. I would love to be tattooed by Brandon Bond, and maybe, if I ever make it over there, Tokyo Hiro. For my birthday, this year, I've decided to get a tattoo from Carson Hill; we'll see if I can get an appointment. In my opinion, Hill and Nick Baxter have taken tattooing, at least as far as realism is concerned, to another level. They are both so young and so talented.

Tell me about your modeling job for Godsgirls.com.

Even though doing some modeling has definitely exceeded what I ever thought it would, (and also provided me with financial security) I have never considered myself a career model, or a professional model, or seeking modeling employment. Funny, right? I have turned down many paying jobs, even. Mostly because you water yourself down. I have shot so many sets for godsgirls.com and have pretty much used that as an outlet to accomplish anything I wanted. Sure, while it ends up as porn, it is still awesome work.

What do you do when you're not in front of a camera or interviewing artists?

I draw, write, and paint. All of this is done while on the computer [laughs]. I sew like an underpaid sweatshop - really clean D.I.Y. stuff or sometimes just a good ol' hem in some pants.

You told me about wanting to become a tattoo artist yourself one day. What's the problem with finding the right shop for an apprenticeship?

It seems that those I know who live in Los Angeles are discouraging it because women don’t often assume the role of a tattoo artist. They feel that women have it hard in the industry, and let's face it...it's true. Mad props to Jen Dabbs for making it, she's one of my modern day inspirados as well as a hero in some ways.

People will always stereotype. By segregating ourselves because we have the capability to give birth to a baby, have breasts, and have battyfucking- eyelashes will only make it worse. The artist should have no face. They should have their art speak for their careers and, if you are a female, feel empowered through your art, not your bathroom sign. Dare to be different and dare to break the definition that brings so many down.

I will become an artist myself one day, and I hope that I am so fucking awesome that I can pick and choose what tattoos I want to do. In fact, I will be like that from the start. Sure, while it's all about making that G.T.A., it can also be about passion, too. It's quality over quantity. Never compromise yourself unless, of course, it is to gain experience or knowledge. I'm punk, dude. Never grow up. Never give in. Do what you fucking want to do.
